Commercial flooring presents its own challenges and arguably even more than in domestic properties, we understand that you need a floor surface that is aesthetically pleasing, hard wearing and hygienic all at once. Commercial carpets and carpet tiles are designed to serve these very different purposes to a high standard and often come in more vibrant patterns that can be more forgiving to dirt and stains, as well as compact wool weaves that can resist the rigours of regular footfall. In places where a soft carpet surface is not desirable, wood is a natural alternative as wooden floorboards can give a timeless, yet contemporary aesthetic in offices and retail premises alike.
One especially contemporary alternative to solid wood floorboards is to use engineered, commercial wood flooring – this is by no means a low-quality option, but sandwiches a hardwood top layer with several more layers of timber, typically with the grain laid at right angles. This cross-hatched grain within the boards helps to withstand unwanted expansion and contraction during changes of temperature or humidity, allowing engineered wood flooring to work better with underfloor heating and for a seamless surface all year round.
Commercial vinyl and laminate flooring are of course popular options for commercial premises flooring, and both of these have the advantage of being able to emulate a variety of different materials, such as wood or stone, but with the consistent level of performance expected of vinyl or laminate. For commercial kitchen flooring and other sites where hygiene is an issue, we can provide suitable robust flooring materials, including waterproof laminate flooring to resist any spillage. We can also supply Polyflor Polysafe vinyl safety flooring with slip resistance, for confidence underfoot in premises where a slip or fall prevention is of importance.
Case studies are available on request from our extensive and varied list of past Manchester and Cheshire flooring projects, including flooring installations at Marco Pierre White Restaurants, Alderhey Hospital, the Chester Racecourse Company and Grosvenor Garden Centre – which gives an indication of the diversity of commercial premises we cater for.
We are CHAS approved, allowing us to advise on the best flooring types for health and safety purposes and to supply flooring products for use by public sector organisations with specific health and safety commitments.
